Neurofeedback, a biofeedback technique training individuals to control brain activity, is gaining traction as a potential PTSD treatment. By monitoring brainwaves via EEG or fMRI, users learn to modulate activity, addressing PTSD’s dysregulated patterns.
PTSD often involves hyperactive amygdala responses and altered alpha rhythms, leading to emotion dysregulation (2).
